Build 2026
I had the pleasure of creating a wealth of supplemental motion for various projects at Microsoft's Build 2026 this year, including the highly anticipated Project Solara announcement video. Keynote videos are made at breakneck speed, and there's a steady stream of notes seemingly right up until the presentation itself, but this project took it to the next level. A grand stage was set for the announcement. Everything had to be perfect, but there was just one little thing: we were still receiving changes from Satya himself the day before the conference (some that our design director Daniel Escolin actually had to push back on)!
In a lot of ways, my onboarding and lightning-fast turnaround for this project was directly reflected in the tone of the video itself. Through all the noise and blurry commotion of daily life, a moment of clarity that shines through really helps recontextualize things. Seeing Satya tee up our video, then the reveal of the product itself right after was that moment of clarity here. All the work that the team put into this, all the actors who came to the studio, and all the artists who brought this to life were able to cut through the clutter and bring that clarity in a bold way.
